Maine Online Casinos

In 2012, Delaware became the first state to legalize online gambling within its borders. Ever since other states across America have been keeping a close eye on how the change in the jurisdiction will manifest as time goes by.

Since then, it’s been a slow but steady improvement towards the acceptance of online gambling, with Nevada, New Jersey and Pennsylvania quickly following suit.

The online casino scene has been turbulent in America these past couple of months, with huge debates regarding a fully regulated betting market and its effects on the economy and any social implications it might have on the residents.

Maine is known to have lax laws regarding gambling, and rules tend to be passed quickly, which gives the casino enthusiasts hope that a change might be in the pipeline.

Maine has a thriving horse racing industry where bets can be placed online at a number of licensed outlets. Whilst betting on dog racing was prohibited in 1993. There are a small number of commercially owned casinos, though these were only made legal in 2003.
