Is Online Gambling Legal in Idaho?

The only form of legal online gambling in this state is social casinos. Idaho has some pretty strict laws when it comes to other forms of gambling too. Whilst the current law doesn’t extend to online casinos and sportsbooks, playing at one of these sites could land you in a county jail for up to 6 months and a large fine.

Sports betting fans shouldn’t get their hopes up either, as the state does not favour legalising this. And Idaho doesn’t have much of a political-legal appetite to change its mind. However, it is permitted to bet at a horse or dog racetrack, using pari-mutuel wagering only. Daily Fantasy sports are also banned. There are 7 tribal casinos, but some casino games are illegal. Residents are permitted to play charity bingo and take part in the state lottery, though.

Minimum Legal age to Gamble in Idaho

The minimum age to gamble at race tracks and bingo halls is 18. You can purchase a state lottery ticket at age 18 too. Some casinos have a minimum age requirement of 18, but most require players to be 21 due to liquor being sold on the premises.

Who Regulates Casinos in Idaho?

All tribal casinos are covered by the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act and are regulated by the Tribal Gaming Commission, depending on which tribe owns the casino. The Idaho State Lottery Commission holds bingo and the lottery. And the Idaho Racing Commission oversees all horse and dog race betting. Find below some news about gambling in the US.
