My first Impression of the slot

Cave of Fortune was gorgeously designed, but it took me a while to understand the story's concept. If you’re curious about what I thought when I first saw the slot, here are some of my memorable thoughts. 

Clean and gorgeous design

I knew from the title that the slot would use a cave as its design, but I didn’t expect the goblins to appear during the gameplay. I noticed precious gems landing on the reels and some treasure chests to explain the story's mission more. 

The cave design is gorgeous despite the darkness, but what I liked the most was the reels’ design. Unlike most slots, the symbols aren’t attached to a panel or framed. That way, I could enjoy the background better. 

Intriguing mechanisms

Among the decorations and symbols on the reels, I found the nitro bottles at the top of the grid most intriguing. I’ve seen slots with an extra row at the top, so I thought it was similar to that feature. 

It made me wait and keep spinning because I wanted to see the bottles in action. My curiosity was fulfilled once I hit the Free Spins game, and it turned out I liked how these bottles work better than I expected! Games with a similarly themed concept include Darwin Gaming’s Cave of Gems.

What bonus features does the slot have?

Cave of Fortune's bonus features ensure that you receive some help along the way. If you’re wondering which I like the most, it’ll be the nitro bottles, so let me start there. 

Among the symbols, there are bottles filled with clear blue liquid. These are the nitro symbols. They don’t pay, but when landed, the bottle at the top of its reel will collect. The goblin will visit you when three nitro bottles have gone into the bottle at the top! 

The filled-up nitro bottles will turn red, and a goblin symbol will fill the entire reel. This is a Persistent Wild, a wild that will stay sticky on the reels for three spins before it spins away. 

This Persistent Wild is available in the base and free game. If you have the Persistent Wild on the reels and the Free Spins game activates, the remaining Persistent Wild turns will carry over to the free game.

The treasure chest is the Scatter symbol. When three or more land on the reels, it’ll give you 10 to 20 spins, depending on how many Scatter triggers it. These Scatters will also land during the free game, granting you five to 20 additional spins. 

When the free game started, I noticed another new mechanism added to the gameplay: the Grand Nitro Meter. Each nitro bottle landing during the Free Spins is counted by this Grand Nitro Meter. When the meter hits 15, the slot rewards a high payout of 500x before resetting the meter to zero. 

After the Grand Nitro Meter hits three, you might see another symbol: a Wild Bomb. This is the explode feature, where the slot adds the bomb wild symbols randomly across the reels according to the value of the Grand Nitro Meter. With this explode feature triggering, I created a high-paying win in one spin.
