Although it looks like a simple symbol, the goblin has various animations during the game, especially when it becomes a Persistent Wild and covers an entire reel. 

I know an element like this might look too simplistic for some, but it is all that Cave of Gems needed to have its own identity. This is just not your average slot with gems, but an adventure where a goblin tries its hardest alongside you to find treasures. 

A Cave Full Of Treasures and Features

500x your bet doesn't look like a great prize when compared to other games, especially jackpot slots. However, I think it works fine for Cave of Gems.

Sure, the high volatility might scare some, but the slot compensates with the addition of many different features, such as the Nitro formula, the Persistent Wilds, and the free spins round.

Let's Discuss The Bonus Features In The Game

It's time to discuss the bonus features in depth. If you've been paying attention, you might've noticed I have mentioned Persistent Wilds. Well, this slot also has a free spins round, which is always nice to see. 

First, let's start with the Persistent Wilds; Each time a Nitro symbol appears, it will fill the respective flask on that reel.

If you fill the flasks until they're full, the goblin will cover that entire reel as a Persistent Wild for the next three spins. Now, that alone sounds very good, but there's more: if you cover all five reels with these, you'll obtain a payout of 200x your bet. 

Besides Nitro pools and goblins, I found Treasure Chest Scatters in the Cave of Gems. If you land three, four, or five chests you are awarded 10, 15, or 20 free spins. 

During the free spins, a Grand Nitro Meter will be set above the reels. Like the flasks, the metre will also be filled each time a Nitro symbol appears. If you fill it until you reach 15, you will win a Grand Reward 500x the stake. 

I wasn't lucky enough to pull the Grand Reward when I played Cave of Gems. However, I did activate the Explode feature, which granted me extra wilds on the reels. The Explode feature can activate randomly during the free spins if the Grand Meter has reached at least number three. Once activated, it will add wilds to the reels equal to the number on the meter at the moment.

However, remember that if the explode feature activates, the Grand Nitro Meter will return to zero, making the Grand Reward harder to obtain.
