I was bowled over by the colours and graphics incorporated into this online slot game. Tiny Toads has a fantastic setup and really makes you feel like you’re going to have a fulfilling experience from the start. Of course, would you expect anything different from a Pragmatic Play game? After all, the developer has created some truly entertaining slot releases over the years.

In Tiny Toads, you can almost feel the cool water that makes up the background and hear the toads croaking as you sit back and relax. When you start spinning the reels, the action picks up, and everything within the game design proves simple to manage.

Drifting on the placid lake

There’s a certain sense of serenity that comes with this slot, which is evident from the moment you load it up. High-quality graphics shine through, presenting a backdrop of crystal-clear water, vibrant green lily pads and floating flowers. That enables the scene to be set, with the slot’s five reels appearing on top of that design. 

There are also four rows in Tiny Toads, which play host to the slot’s symbols. As well as the basic playing card symbols included there, you will see high-paying symbols of a fish, a heron, an alligator, and more.

Three types of fireflies can also land on the reels – the purple, the red and the green versions. When they do land, they are collected by the purple, red or green toad at the top of the reels. Whenever this occurs, they can randomly trigger free spins for you. The toad that activates the round introduces its own modifier at the same time. Those modifiers are as follows:

Purple Modifier	Every purple firefly that lands reveals a random award of up to 10x your bet or an extra 1 or 2 free spins.
Red Modifier	All fireflies are golden, and when they hit, they reveal a random money award of up to 10x or a random letter of a certain colour. These relate to the fixed jackpots, giving you the chance to win up to 3,500x your stake.
Green Modifier	The number of paylines included in free spins increases to 100 and the game grid enlarges to 5x6 in size. Any wild landing also triggers a nudge of the reel it is on until it is fully filled with wilds.

RTP, volatility and max win

Pragmatic Play has created the Tiny Toads game with an RTP rate of 96.51% applied to it. That dictates the amount you can expect to win back from spinning its reels over time. The higher that percentage is, the better the slot is, and anything above 96% is considered to be a good slot.

I found the animations and background on Tiny Toads charming when I opened it on my Android phone. I was disappointed to see how little of the display was used to display the reels. Less than a third of the screen was occupied by the machine, with quite a lot of space on either side of it. 

As I have come to expect with Pragmatic Play titles, the controls were neatly placed together at the bottom, which made gameplay slightly easier than on a desktop. How I would still prefer to play it like that rather than on Android or iOS devices.

What is so special about Tiny Toads?

Tiny Toads brings its own unique flavour to the five reels in action. Yes, there are various other slots that focus on toads and frogs, but the fireflies landing and being swallowed up to trigger free spins with modifiers is specific to this game in the genre. Pragmatic does a fantastic job with the visuals and general gameplay, too. It would be nice if the maximum win was higher and the volatility lower, but when you practice responsible gambling, it’s a wonderful slot to play.
