It’s time for my favourite part: bonus features! The game has four main features – Super Heroes, free spins, wilds, and a jackpot round. You can look through the different features by pressing the money icon in the main menu.

Super Heroes can be chosen by clicking the buttons on the left side of the reels. Chosen characters begin glowing and their payouts are improved by up to 20x. Super Hero symbols also allow players to play for additional jackpots. 

Free spins are triggered by landing three or more spaceship scatters. The round always starts with 10 free spins. Scatters also pay between 5x and 50x your bet, depending on the number of symbols. It’s possible to retrigger the feature up to a maximum of 300 free spins.

Wilds are depicted as a villain. There are two types of wilds: one with a silver background and the word “Wild” and one with a gold background, which is the Burning Wild. The latter adds an Energy Sphere to the progress bar on the left side of the reels. The wilds substitute for any symbol besides the scatter and only shows up on reels 2, 3, and 4. 

Filling the progress bar triggers the jackpot game with four separate jackpots. The bonus starts with a field containing 12 circles, with players having to choose three matching symbols to reveal a prize. The number of available jackpots depends on how many Super Heroes were selected.

Why Do I Think Slotham City Stands Out?

Superhero-themed slots are always fun. However, if you think they can be a bit samey, Popiplay takes it up a notch by depicting competition winners as Super Heroes. The result is a thrilling game with an excellent RTP rate and a top prize of 2,614x the player’s bet.

I think allowing players to choose how they’d like to play the game, i.e. selecting the number of characters, was a wise decision. I also liked the jackpot game and what they did with scatter symbols, as these pay up to 50x your wager.

I’m not saying this game doesn’t have drawbacks, though. I thought the free spins bonus round was too basic, and I was hoping for a few extra features, such as expanding symbols and more multipliers. Don’t forget to account for the game’s high volatility.
