The narrative isn’t complicated, but then again, it doesn’t need to be. I enjoyed the moon theme, and adding in the fiery element gave it a science fiction or almost a fantasy feel. The flaming rings that represented the prize symbols fit the theme well, although the other symbols were card suits, lucky sevens, and stars, which matched more with traditional slots.

What Happened When Sizzling Moon’s Bonus Features Triggered?

The main feature in the base game is the Wild. If you’re looking for more action, you’ll have to wait for the bonus round. The Wild substitutes for the paying symbols but not the bonus prize money ones. Since I needed eight to 16 matching symbols for a win, the Wild was a welcome help.

The fiery circles acted as the bonus symbols, and they contained prize amounts in the centre that were 1x-10x my bet, and sometimes 12x and 15x. Some of these flaming rings landed with a number at the bottom. It indicated how long the symbol would stick to the reels. Since you need six bonus symbols to trigger the Hold the Jackpot round, the sticky feature helped me out a few times.

Once six bonus symbols land on the reels, the Hold the Jackpot round launches, which you can find in other games from this slot developer. I had to wait a while to get there, but I was glad I did. All of the regular symbols disappear and the prizes that triggered the round remain. I began with three respins, but every time a new bonus symbol landed, they reset.

The prize symbols were like the ones I saw in the base game, but there were also Mini, Minor and Major jackpot symbols that corresponded to 20x, 50x and 150x my bet. I saw a mystery symbol land, which turned into a regular prize symbol worth 4x my bet, although it could have been a jackpot.

If you fill all 16 spots on the reels with prize symbols, you get the Grand jackpot, which is worth 1,000x your wager and is added to your total win.

What Is Sizzling Moon’s RTP?

The RTP is around average at 96.14%, so it makes the cut for me, but won’t enter my top 10. As for compatibility, it’s a modern slot that you can enjoy just as easily from your phone as from a desktop PC. It’s suitable for Android and iOS devices.

One of my favourite things about the slot is that you can choose the volatility. Using the chilli button, you can pick one pepper for low volatility, two for standard (medium) or three for high volatility. I prefer medium, so I stuck with that most of the time. I tested the game on low and high settings, just for the experience, though.

Why Would I Pick Sizzling Moon?

I’m already a fan of some of Wazdan’s other games with similar themes, including Sizzling Eggs. This slot has a similar vibe if you like that slot, but with the Hold the Jackpot feature. While I prefer the complexity of Sizzling Eggs, my trip to the moon was pretty fun, too. I liked being able to set my volatility, the moodiness of the slot, and the rewarding bonus round.

Although the sticky symbols helped me trigger the bonus round, I found the prize symbols got in the way of regular wins during the base game. Plus, the RTP is average, so this slot isn’t going to become my new favourite.
