Summary
Casino Rating: 9.2/10

PrizePicks is such a top and well-respected name in the DFS industry, if you haven’t tried it already then please give it a go. I already knew quite a lot about its operator and I had high expectations, which were all met. The platform is incredible for DFS fans and with 2 official mobile apps, it’s a perfect choice for betting on the go. I applaud the slightly different approach where you actually bet against house stats alone. There’s no need to get bogged down in crunching numbers, which in my opinion makes PrizePicks a good starter for newbies. I enjoyed the betting options too and the variety of sports and eSports is excellent. PrizePicks is also available in many states and is fully legal and safe to use. Even if you are new to this fascinating side of sports betting, I would advise you to give PrizePicks a try.

Overview of PrizePicks

PrizePicks is a daily fantasy sports platform focusing on single-player prediction. You don't have to build your own perfect lineup for a day or a week. Instead, you make over-under predictions for specific athletes.

You can combine several player stats in a single entry, and they don't even have to be from the same sport. Use your sports knowledge across events and build your predictions around the stats most important to you.

At PrizePicks, you don't compete against hard-core DFS professionals who eat stats for breakfast and output-perfect lineups. Here, your payouts have nothing to do with how well other players have predicted the results. It's just you against the house, pure and simple.

In this review, we explain how PrizePicks works, what kind of new player bonus you can expect and which sports the site covers.

PrizePicks Bonus

PrizePicks offers its new players a hefty 100% deposit match bonus. In addition, you can refer your friends and get a nice stack of promo funds for each friend who signs up.

Promo Code

Use the promo code PLAYBOOK to claim your 100% deposit match bonus up to $100.

Deposit Bonus

When you make your first deposit at PrizePicks, you can get a 100% deposit match bonus, up to $100. Use the promo code PLAYBOOK.

In practice, you can double your gaming budget using the bonus. If your deposited funds run out, you start playing with the bonus money. The bonus must be wagered once in the PrizePicks contests before you can withdraw the remaining funds. This is a very acceptable rollover requirement, considering many other sites ask you to wager bonuses several times over.

Other Bonuses

PrizePicks features a referral program. You can get your own referral code, share it with your friends, and get $25 in promo funds for every friend who signs up and deposits on the platform.

Loyalty Program

At the moment, PrizePicks doesn't have a loyalty program. For casinos with loyalty programs check out our detailed VIP casinos guide.

Available Sports

PrizePicks lets you make predictions on a wide range of traditional sports leagues and professional eSports.

When it comes to the selection of sports, PrizePicks stands head and shoulders above many of its competitors. Whereas many sites limit themselves to the most popular USA sports leagues, such as the NFL, NBA, MLB and NHL, PrizePicks goes way beyond the usual suspects.

In 2022, PrizePicks features the following sports and leagues:

Sports:

  • Baseball (MLB)
  • Basketball (NBA and WNBA)
  • Cricket
  • Disc golf
  • Football (NFL and NCAAF)
  • Golf (PGA)
  • Ice hockey (NHL)
  • Jai Alai
  • MMA (UFC)
  • NASCAR
  • Soccer (4 domestic leagues)
  • Tennis
  • Truck racing

eSports:

  • Apex Legends
  • Call of Duty
  • CS:GO
  • League of Legends
  • Rocket League
  • Valorant

Games at PrizePicks

PrizePicks is a little different from most daily fantasy sports platforms. Whereas the majority of DFS sites have you build a dream team that earns points for a day or a week, PrizePicks has taken a much simpler approach:

  • Make player-specific over-under predictions before the game
  • Combine 2 to 5 props into a single slate
  • Earn payouts depending on how well you predicted the results

At PrizePicks, you don't have to compete against deep-pocketed stats pros who play DFS for a living and enter dozens of well-polished teams into every contest. Instead, you simply play against the house. In this, PrizePicks closely resembles traditional sports betting, especially parlay or accumulator bets.

Combine different stats

You can choose different player props and stats, and even combine picks from different sports and events on a single ticket.

For example, you can make the following picks and have them all in the same bet:

  • LeBron James: over 16.5 rebounds
  • Connor McDavid: over 0.5 goals
  • Tiger Woods: under 73.5 strokes
  • Kyle Hendricks: over 3 strikeouts

Choose your payouts

Having multiple props on the same bet increases the potential payout. However, it also increases the risk of the entire bet going south. That's why PrizePicks lets you choose different payout models that suit different risk levels.

Power Play is the more traditional parlay betting format that many sports fans are familiar with. You need to get ALL your predictions right and you're in for a handsome payout. However, if just one of your predictions goes wrong, you lose your entire entry fee. Here are the payouts for Power Play:

  • 4 players: 10x payout for 4 correct picks
  • 3 players: 5x payout for 3 correct picks
  • 2 players: 3x payout for 2 correct picks

In addition, some sports offer even higher potential payouts for certain picks. For example, in the NFL and college football, you can increase your 4/4 Power Play payout up to 15x on selected picks.

Flex Play, as the name suggests, gives you a less rigid payout structure. You're allowed to miss one or even two picks and still get something. However, the payout for getting all your picks right is lower than in the Power Play format. Here are the payouts Flex Play:

  • 5 players: 10x for 5/5, 2x for 4/5, 0.4x for 3/5
  • 4 players: 5x for 4/4, 1.5x for 3/4
  • 3 players: 2.25x for 3/3, 1.25 for 2/3
  • 2 players: 2x for 2/2, 0.5x for 1/2

PRO TIP: Don't shove too many picks on one ticket, especially if you're a beginner. Take the lower payouts of fewer props and go for Flex Play instead of Power Play.

Deposit and withdrawal options

Unfortunately, you don't have a wide range of deposit options at your disposal. For now, you can only top up your account with PayPal. However, you can fund your PayPal account with Discover and American Express, giving you at least some more options.

According to PrizePicks, they offer two withdrawal methods: Instant Bank Transfer (ACH) and Card withdrawals. New customers' withdrawals have to be reviewed manually, and this takes 6 to 12 hours.

Below, you can check out the deposit and withdrawal limits:

  • The minimum deposit at PrizePicks is $10.
  • The maximum deposit is $10,000.
  • The minimum withdrawal is $10.

PrizePicks Company History

PrizePicks was launched in 2018 by serial entrepreneurs Adam Wexler and Jay Deuskar. Before PrizePicks, Wexler had already earned his wings with the fantasy sports startup SidePrize. Up to June 2022, the firm has raised $850,000 in capital.

PrizePicks' HQ is in Atlanta, Georgia. The company has grown significantly and currently offers its platform in 30 states, DC and Canada. In most states, it's the closest alternative to actual sports betting.

Customer Support

You can reach the PrizePick customer support via live chat. The chat box opens by clicking the icon at the bottom right corner of the screen. According to the website, the average response time is under 4 minutes.

PrizePicks Mobile App

PrizePicks has a dedicated mobile app for Android and iOS. You can find the download links to Google Play and AppStore on the website.

Compared to many DFS platforms, PrizePicks has very solid user ratings. The Android app has an average of 4.4 stars out of 5, based on over 3,000 reviews. The iOS app averages an even higher rating of 4.8, with almost 30K reviews to back it up. That is very impressive.

Terms of Service

PrizePicks is available in 30 states, the District of Columbia, and Canada. You must be at least 18 years old to play, but some jurisdictions impose a higher age limit. Although PrizePicks doesn't list these states outright, the common age limits for DFS sites should give you an idea:

  • 21+: Arizona, Iowa, Louisiana, Massachusetts
  • 19+: Alabama
  • 18+: All other states

Is PrizePicks Trustworthy?

Yes. PrizePicks is a legit daily fantasy sports platform founded in 2018. Compared to many other DFS operators, PrizePicks has a slightly different approach.

Instead of competing against number crunchers and building perfect lineups, you play against the house on stats alone.

As long as you meet the local age requirements, you can legally play at PrizePicks in a vast majority of states.

Our Thoughts on PrizePicks

PrizePicks is as close as you can get to sports betting, without running foul of the state laws that don't allow actual sports betting.

At PrizePicks, you play against the house, not against DFS professionals who spend their working days following stats and building their teams. It's very straightforward and your payouts aren't linked to the performance of other players.

At PrizePicks, you have to choose at least two player-specific props on every ticket. This is very much like parlay bets, where your potential payout increases the more items you have in a single bet.

However, the first thing most sports betting professionals tell newcomers is to steer clear of parlay or accumulator bets. Although the high payout may be appealing, only one of your picks has to go south for the entire bet to lose. Luckily, PrizePicks offers a Flex Play option, which features payouts even when one or two items on your betting slip fail. If you're new to betting, that's where you should start.
