For fans of Oros Gaming, the company’s latest slot might feel familiar. Pegasus Cash Spree is the newest title in the successful Cash Spree slot series.
As such, you’ll find many well-loved elements, like the multiplier growing up to 10x and five fixed jackpots. However, this title brings back the popular Wheel Bonus originally found in Joker Bonanza Cash Spree. It was left out in the second series title, Lucky Bonanza Cash Spree.
Despite much of this game being the same as the others in the series, I still had a fun time spinning the reels. The expected mechanics paired well with the fresh graphics and interesting theme. As such, it’s one of the best slots for players who are looking for something new yet familiar to play.
Browse My Screenshots of the Game
When testing a new slot, I make sure to take screenshots of the important moments so UK players know what to expect when the reels are spinning. If you’re familiar with this series, then you’ll know the first slot in the series followed the standard Joker theme.
The next one was that of the Irish leprechaun, and this game dives into Greek mythology. Whether you’re a fan of the movie Hercules or the series Percy Jackson, you’ll know about the famed pegasus in Greek mythology. This iconic winged horse is the core element of this particular slot.
Gilded pillars encircle the reels, topped with luxurious wings and laurel wreaths that wrap around the jackpot amounts. My screenshots will show you the opening title, standard reels, special mechanics, a big win screen, and more. This way, there’ll be no surprises when you start to play the slot.
The First Step to Wagering on Pegasus Cash Spree
Since slots boast such straightforward gameplay, you basically immediately jump into betting on a slot when you start playing it. If you prefer having a guide when you start playing, then you’re in luck. I thoroughly tested this game and listed my experience in a step-by-step guide to betting below:
Sign up at one of the top 10 casinos. These casinos are all reliable and trustworthy sites offering multiple features, offers, and games. I usually look for one that has a massive gaming selection, as that’s what I appreciate in a casino.
Make your first deposit. You can check whether there are compatible bonuses with this slot or play without a bonus. The choice is yours. When I deposit, I look for a payment method that’s also available when withdrawing, as that saves me time verifying another payment method.
Search for the slot title. In my experience, the fastest way to access this slot is to use the search bar and type in its name. Another option is to filter the games by provider, using Oros Gaming to find all of their games. However, some casinos will list it under Games Global, the partner provider who helped with this slot’s creation.
Adjust your stake amount. The betting range falls between £0.20 and £35. I found it ideal as a casual player and could easily set my bet starting amount at £1.
Spin the reels! You’ve done everything you have to do to start playing. If you’re like me and would like to know a bit more, read the paytable. The paytable will explain the game’s mechanics and features. However, as soon as you’re ready, you can press the spin button to start playing.
My Initial Experience and Impression of This Slot
This slot immediately hooked me, though it might be due to my love of all things Greek mythology. If you’re someone who doesn’t have that background, the initial experience might seem slightly superficial. After all, there are no real “new” features, and the reels simply contain basic jewels and symbols.
However, as you play, the real gems start to show themselves. The wheel turning to the right side of the reels will introduce a fun mechanic to the gameplay, helping you possibly win one of the jackpots on the left of the reels.
This slot also stands out since you can help grow your fortune with each “X” multiplier symbol you land. This symbol will add to your Free Spins multiplier at the top of the reels. Still, that’s not the only reason I liked this game. Its theme is interesting and will capture your attention whether you know the story behind it or not.
New Graphics to Grab UK Players’ Interest
The traditional slot layout ensures you have an intuitive gaming experience. The spin and stake amount buttons are on the left side of the screen. Meanwhile, the menu button on the bottom right side of the screen provides access to your settings and paytable.
Crisp 2D graphics boasts a few 3D elements, such as the bonus wheels and some of the pegasus’ movements. The sound is a cheerful and majestic tune, with the sound of a horse’s clip-clopping hooves as the spin sound effect when reels land.
While the pegasus is the highest-paying symbol at 5x your stake, it’s followed by various gem shapes and colours as the other high-paying symbols. Coloured metal card icons of 10, J, Q, K, and A are the low-paying symbols.
A Familiar Theme with a Twist
This slot’s theme explores the myth of the pegasus, or rather, it loosely explores it. If you play this slot expecting the Greek myth, then you’ll see, like I did, that it simply borrows the visuals of the famed winged horse.
A white stallion with feathered wings gliding through the clouds, lighted up with “god rays”, as most people call the sunbeams. There’s no actual reference to the myth of this creature. Instead, the slot focuses on the more recognisable elements of Greek history, such as the temples, gold bars, and text style.
However, the one concession towards the original myth I did find is the waves motif in the bonus wheels. As Poseidon was the sire of this winged horse, it makes sense to add some reference to him. Otherwise, you’ll find a slot where you collect jewels and gold bars as you spin, with the pegasus showing up during the free spins.
While slots with a pegasus theme aren’t abundant like Egyptian themes or even Greek god-themed slots, there are a few other noteworthy ones. One of the most famous titles is the progressive jackpot, Divine Fortune. However, there’s also a Pragmatic Play slot, Hercules and Pegasus, for fans of Greek stories.
What Bonus Games Will You Find in This Slot?
The paytable doesn’t just tell you more about the basic mechanics of the game; it also explores the various bonus features. If you like multiple bonus features, then buckle in, as it’s a wild ride exploring these.
The first is the multiplier symbol, which increases your overall Free Spins multiplier by 0.5x, up to a maximum of 10x. Once the free spins trigger, the multiplier will apply to all wins during the bonus round. Once the spins are over, the multiplier resets to a random value between 1x and 4x.
Free spins will activate if three temple scatters land on reels two, three, and four. I was excited to see a bonus wheel popping up, which will spin to award you between eight and 30 spins. During the spins feature, the multiplier symbol cannot land, but you can retrigger the spins.
Another feature is the Wheel Bonus. Collect wheel symbols for the chance to trigger the wheel bonus. It’ll randomly activate and spin, with each of the colours corresponding to a specific jackpot:
Gold: Grand Jackpot - 2,500x
Red: Mega Jackpot - 250x
Purple: Major Jackpot - 50x
Green: Minor Jackpot - 20x
Blue: Mini Jackpot - 10x
There are mystery symbols, which will turn into random symbols during each spin. However, the only time you’ll see it as a mystery symbol first is if it turns into a cash symbol or the wild. I was also excited to see expanding wilds. They can expand to cover two reels or the entire reel.
Now that I’ve gone over the basic bonus features of this slot, it’s time to explore its primary feature, namely the Cash Spree.
The cash symbols have gold bars and a cash amount on them. If these symbols land on at least reels one and two, then you win the combined amount of their cash prizes. However, the symbols must land on adjacent reels.
The wild symbol doesn’t substitute for cash symbols, and the bonus amounts range between 0.5x and 8x your stake. Symbols for the different jackpots can also form part of the cash symbols, but only on reels four and five, which means it’s less likely to win one of the jackpots this way.
Pegasus Cash Spree’s Technical Considerations
Like its predecessors, this Cash Spree slot has an RTP that ranges between 94.23% and 96.20%. The RTP can change depending on the casino, but even the lower figure of 94.23% is still within an acceptable range for a jackpot slot.
The volatility ranges between mid and high, though more towards the high side. That means that wins tend to land less frequently but often in slightly higher amounts. This 5x3 slot has 20 fixed paylines.
While the £0.20 to £35 betting range is decent for casual players, it might feel a bit restrictive for high rollers. For a slot that operates using cash symbols, I would like to see a higher bet possible, though I’m not surprised by the max bet of £35. It was the same range for the other two Cash Spree slots.
What’s My Opinion on Why Pegasus Cash Spree Stands Out?
I would recommend this slot to UK players, as it’s an action-packed game. While the jackpots are already a pretty good motivator, I love the expanding wilds, bonus wheels, and free spins.
However, I would prefer a higher RTP and max bet for high roller players. Still, these drawbacks aren’t enough for me not to play the game, as it’s one of the few pegasus-themed slots around.
