I pretty much knew what to expect from this game’s theme when I saw its title. The mining theme is something many developers have focused on, but Pragmatic is one of the best brands for its graphics. That shines through in Mining Rush, and I can confirm I was impressed by the slot’s design from the first moment. At the same time, everything played out smoothly in the game – even the part when I got to experience free spins. More on that later!

Vintage Miners Discovering Gemstones

Loading this slot up will present you with a stunning set of visuals. On the right of the game’s reels, you will see a miner with his pickaxe slung over his shoulder and a diamond in one hand. He looks like a jolly soul who’s ready to take you into the depths of the mine to locate more gems. Behind him is a mine cart filled with crystals, while some gemstones can also be seen on the floor. It’s a truly enjoyable slot game to see on your screen, and that extends across to the symbols on the grid, too. The slot’s lower paying symbols are of standard playing card additions, but higher paying inclusions are those of the mine cart, the pickaxe and the miner. When you play Mining Rush, your first step must be to choose an appropriate wager. Mining Rush is a cluster pays slot, which means that you need to cluster at least 5 identical symbols together across the 7x7 machine to form a win. The symbols must be next to one another, either horizontally or vertically, to count. Then, a tumble hits, which removes the winning symbols from the grid and drops more new ones into their place. If another win hits, this occurs again, and the process continues until no new wins can form.

Bonus games and features

The tumbling reels aren’t the only exciting feature to look forward to in Mining Rush. The slot also features a bonus symbol, represented by the barrel of explosives. It can appear anywhere on the grid, and if one or two lands on a spin alongside at least one winning combination, these transform into nuggets. 

These can appear with levels 1, 2, 3 or 4 at random. Every time a tumble occurs on the spin, all nuggets have the chance to pay out a random amount. When they do, a point is added to them, and every 3 points collected on a nugget increases its level to the next one. This means you can achieve up to 1,000x your bet from them.

These nuggets are also active in a greater way throughout free spins. That round triggers whenever 3 or more bonus symbols land on a spin. You get up to 20 of these to enjoy and any bonus symbol landing while it is in action transforms into a random nugget, locking on the screen for the feature.

Overall, I was quite impressed with Mining Rush. when I opened it on my Android smartphone, it presented me with a particularly large reel setup, which fit neatly in about half the screen.
