Gem Splitter

Here’s my opinion of Gem Splitter
A room full of treasure is just as good a setting for a slot as anything else I can think of. If you’re attracted to sparkly things, Gem Splitter will draw you in. I liked the golden reels, the pile of coins in the background, and the gem symbols glinting at me from the reels.
The game’s name comes from its innovative splitter feature, which is what kept this slot interesting. It also has a few other bonus features to add to the excitement. A well-executed theme and a decent amount of action were enough to catch my eye.
With a little something extra to add character and charm, this game would be even better. It’s a diamond in the rough that still appealed to me with its Multiways setup and high maximum win.
What the slot looks like
I’ve provided a glimpse of the treasure hall for you to see in all its glory. If you look around, there’s luxuriousness everywhere. The shiny and valuable objects don’t overshadow the reels, though, which are the main focus.
In my screenshots, you can see the splitter feature at work at the top of the reels. On the left is the chosen symbol, and on the right, you’ll see the randomly selected pattern. Take a look through the images, and you’ll see the Wild in action and the gamble feature. I also captured a screenshot of the Free Spins round so that you can see how the reels and the design change.
Is Gem Splitter worth playing?
Yes, this slot from Wazdan is totally worth playing. If a slot gets boring or repetitive, I won’t recommend it. Fortunately, Gem Splitter kept me on my toes with the changing number of winways. The dazzling appearance also makes it an attractive option.
As for the payouts, I was slightly disappointed by my wins that didn’t involve the splitting feature. For the low-value symbols, in particular, I didn’t get a win with a return unless the symbols were split. Payouts start at 0.10x your bet and go up to 100x, which you get for 15 red gems—the top-paying symbol.

Your first wager on Gem Splitter
I didn’t just stumble across this treasure trove; I had to go out there and find it. If you want to follow in my footsteps to get your gems, check out my guide below. I’ve outlined each part of the process, from casino registration to placing my bet.
I had a few top online casinos in mind for playing this slot. I did some research to find out which offered the best experience based on the withdrawal times, transaction limits, customer support and free spin offers.
Once I’d narrowed down the selection to one, I created my account. I needed to click the link in the verification email to get started.
The first page I headed to was the promotions one. I checked the welcome offer to see if I could use it on this game. While I was there, I familiarised myself with the other rules, including the wagering requirements and expiry period.
I deposited my money using an e-wallet and claimed my casino bonus from the menu. The funds arrived in a few minutes, and the welcome offer showed up in my account not long after.
Since the casino’s slot category is huge, I used the search box to find this title faster. I launched it and then read the paytable and the rules.
I was almost ready to play, but first, I needed to set my bet. I adjusted it by selecting the amount, although you can also use the buttons to go up or down.
What I noticed about this slot
When the online slot loaded and I took a look around, I was impressed by the design. If Midas had wandered in, he couldn’t have done a better job. The colour scheme isn’t brash and garish. It manages to be both bright and classy, which makes it more attractive to me. It also had a historical or fantasy feel, which gave the game a bit more depth.
Shimmery slot design
I expected a gem slot to have lots of glitter, shine, and sparkle, and it didn’t disappoint. Light is reflecting off of all the right surfaces, which makes the 3D effect of this game impressive. I also liked the attention to detail in the gold columns at the edge of the reels.
The animations involved coins and shards from the gems, so they aligned well with the theme. The sound effects followed suit, with a tinkling in the background and extra sounds for when the splitter feature was in action. The music felt fitting for a cavern filled with treasure.
Story without soul
From an objective point of view, I can’t fault the theme. The piles of money, the shimmering gems, and the golden reels all paint the picture of discovering treasure. The historical or fantasy setting and tone of the music help turn that into a narrative.
Subjectively, though, it felt like something was missing. The animations worked well, although there weren’t many of them. Combined with the fact that this game is based on a room full of objects, meant that it felt rather lifeless at times. It's why I prefer slots with nature, quirk characters, or animals.
Exploring the bonus features
The main feature of this slot is the Symbol Splitter. If it’s not active, the game has 243 ways to win. However, the Multiways aspect kicks in when it starts splitting symbols, which can increase the winning possibilities up to 59,049. The feature works from the top of the reels, randomly selecting a symbol and a pattern to apply to each spin.
As you can see from my screenshots, the number of winways varies on each spin. That’s because it depends on how many selected symbols are on the reels and the pattern chosen. There are five options, some split into two, three or four, and those splits can be horizontal or vertical.
The horizontal splits increase the number of win ways, so your payout isn’t necessarily bigger, but you could form more winning combinations. The vertical splits, on the other hand, add more symbols to the combination, so if you get a win, the payout will be increased. I liked the ‘four splits’ pattern best as it has the benefits of horizontal and vertical.
After a win in the base game, I was offered the chance to double my money with the gamble feature. I picked between two chests. One was empty, which meant I lost, whereas the other had gems inside. Luckily, I picked the gems. I could have risked it to double my money again, but I chose to collect.
The game has a multicoloured gem, Wild, which substitutes for paying but not special symbols. The cluster of uncut gems is the Scatter, and three need to land on the reels for the Free Spin round to begin. Neither of these symbols can be split.
My bonus round launched, and I noticed that only the ‘four splits’ pattern applied, which helped me have more win ways and increase my payouts when wins did land. However, what I liked most about the round, apart from spins without a stake, was that I got three extra spins when the plus spins symbol landed.
Getting to grips with Gem Splitter’s RTP
My heart wants stunning design and lots of features. If my head is in charge, though, it wants to know the volatility, RTP, max win, and other details. I satisfy both sides of me by looking at the game from all angles, including reading the documentation. I discovered that this 5x3 slot has an RTP of 96.27%.
The average RTP didn’t wow me, but it means the game meets my minimum standard. In terms of volatility, it isn’t my style. It’s a high volatility slot, and it showed when I had some longer gaps between wins. I did experience some larger payouts, though. This style may not be suited to your gambling preference, so you may prefer low-volatility slots over higher-volatility games if you want more regular payouts.
What made me pick Gem Splitter?
I’m a sucker for innovation. If a game has a feature that you don’t see often, then I want to play. For Gem Splitter, it’s the symbol-splitting function that attracted me, and I liked how the pattern that was chosen meant that different things could happen on the reels.
The Free Spins are a nice touch, too, since I’ve come to expect them. I like that they are an enhanced version of the base game, thanks to the pattern selector remaining fixed on the best option. As for the design, I liked it, but I didn’t love it. When you add in the high volatility and lack of character, it’s clear that this slot isn’t at the top of my list. However, it may suit other players more.
