FanDuel Compared to Other Casinos
Fanduel Daily Fantasy Sports Bonus
New players at Fanduel can enjoy a daily fantasy sports welcome bonus of $5, credited in the form of a $5 free daily fantasy sports entry when you first access the site. You'll need to open a new account (not have one already) and make your first deposit of $5 or more to get this bonus. You can then use your $5 extra to enter any contests on offer within that entry limit.
Even better than bonus funds is that you can freely withdraw any winnings you get from the bonus entry, with no wagering required (this will take your casino experience to the next level!). Note that the bonus itself cannot be withdrawn. You'll have 14 days to use your $5 bonus before it expires.
Fanduel Daily Fantasy Sports Bonus Code
Many online sportsbooks require a bonus code to be entered to claim a bonus. Fanduel's sportsbook doesn't require a promo code to claim their welcome bonus, nor will you need one to claim the $5 bonus entry at Fanduel Fantasy, their daily fantasy sports site.
Make a qualifying deposit, that is, the first deposit of $5 or more, and the $5 bonus entry will be added to your account automatically.
Available Daily Fantasy Sports
Fanduel offers daily fantasy sports betting on a range of prevalent North American team sports, including football (American), basketball, baseball, hockey, soccer, golf and racing. The most popular league at Fanduel for daily fantasy sports betting is the NFL. Still, many other leagues and competitions are also covered here, including MLB, NBA, WNBA, NHL, NCAA, CFB, PGA, NASCAR and the English Premier League.
The range of sports and leagues covered here is not quite as broad as you may find at the other main daily fantasy sports betting giant, DraftKings. Still, those on offer include a wide variety of contests and prize pools, allowing players of all types to cash in on their favourite sports. The slightly narrower range may appeal to players in terms of less competition, making Fanduel a severe competitor for the title of best daily fantasy sports site.
Available Bets
Fanduel offers many ways to play via daily and weekly guaranteed prize pool tournaments and cash games. Competitions can cover a single match or a series of battles and generally involve competing against other players by choosing specific bets or lineups to win points and reach or exceed the specified goal for a cash prize payout.
The standard full roster style game involves choosing players for the starting lineup for the first and second half of the relevant match. Unique spots such as PRO, Star, and MVP in the NBA can multiply your points by 1.2, 1.5 or 2 respectively to boost your position even more.
Newer rotating game styles that switch up the scoring system introduce tiers, include no salary cap and involve players from set pools who offer interesting and exciting variations. Let's check out the various ways to bet at Fanduel.
Guaranteed Prize Pools
These competitions generally offer a set prize pool and entry for a specific buy-in price. There may or may not be a limit on the number of entrants allowed into each tournament. Players earn points to achieve a paying spot on the leaderboard and the corresponding prize payout. Some buy-ins can become quite pricey, ranging from free entry up to an eye-watering $10,000! However, satellites offer an additional (and cheaper!) way to enter these pricier tournaments.
Beat the Score
As the name implies, the goal of this competition is for players to reach a predefined score threshold with their picks. Doing so results in an equal share of the prize pool.
Head to Head
These are simple competitions where you can take another player from head to head; the winner takes all contests.
50/the 50s
In these competitions, half the field will get a payout while the other half will lose. This option is entirely based on the 'skill' of the players in the area; this option makes for an unpredictable and exciting experience!
Leagues
A bit like guaranteed prize pool tournaments but with a set number of entrants and no prize pool! Leagues can be found under the 3-100 players tab.
Multipliers
Winners of these contests get a multiple of their entry fee as the prize. Multipliers are 2x, 3x, 5x, sometimes more. The number of entrants determines the percentage of winners there will be in the contest.
Create a Contest
Another attractive and popular way to play is by creating your contest. This option allows you to choose any active sports, pick a time, select specific games or a series of games, decide if it will be a public contest or by invitation only, and determine the number of entrants, the buy-in, and the prize pool and prize breakdown.
Site and Usability
With such a vast array of betting opportunities, the challenge for such a popular and well-stocked site will always be optimal presentation. Featuring the familiar Fanduel colours of dark and light blue, the website is arranged into logical sections based on how you would go about placing a daily fantasy sports bet. Soft blue tabs along the top allow you to choose a sport from NFL, NBA, MLB and the other offered sports leagues.
The first tab in that row is called Discover, which is where you'll find featured tournaments in popular categories, such as those with the highest prize pools or ones covering the hottest events. This is a perfect place to start if you're a beginner in daily fantasy sports betting, as it's a bit easier to pick a tournament from here rather than having many options to sort through via the individual sports.
Choosing a sports tab will reveal more options, with a lighter coloured line of options directly underneath the blue sport tabs allowing you to select the type of game you want from Tournaments, Beat the Score, Multipliers, Head to Head, 3-100 players and 50/the 50s. Down the left side of the page, you'll see more game options such as Full Roster, Single Game, SuperFlex and QuickPick Kickers.
Once you've made your choices, you'll see the various available games listed in the centre, which can then be sorted by size, buy-in, start time and prize pool using the drop-down menu at the top right. If available, you'll also be able to narrow the choices according to buy-in using the slider. From here, it's a simple case of clicking the tournament you want to view more details and start making your picks!
The next step involves drafting your players, which is the fun part! This process can be as straightforward or as complicated as you want, with the ability to see the complete player list, a shortlist of recommended players or Guru Suggestions, which is a way of choosing solid lineups faster. Selected players are added to your lineup on the right, where you'll also be able to keep an eye on your remaining salary and average per player. When you're happy with your picks, check the entry fee and hit the Enter button to pay the buy-in and place your bet.
Rather than leaving new players to learn the ropes by themselves, Fanduel features several valuable resources and beginners guides in the website's research section. In addition, novice, experienced and highly experienced tags allow you to quickly see which games are the most suitable for your level of skill and experience. The Fantasy Insider section of the site also features blog-style news entries and articles for additional background info for the various sports.
Sportsbook
Most are aware that Fanduel offers daily fantasy sports betting, but few know that a sportsbook is now part of their offering too! Despite being very new, Fanduel's sportsbook has attracted a lot of attention, and when you start digging a little, it becomes clear why.
Since you'll need a different account to take advantage of Fanduel's sports betting, you also get another welcome bonus. This one is substantially bigger than the one offered over at Fanduel Fantasy, with a 100% up to $1,000 bonus waiting for you.
On offer here is a pretty good collection of pre-match and live sports coverage for a US-facing sportsbook, with sports including football (American), basketball, baseball, hockey, golf, soccer, tennis, MMA and boxing. In the soccer category, you'll be surprised to find other leagues aside from the MLS worldwide, with international leagues also present in some different sports categories.
In terms of betting options, Fanduel's sportsbook has become known for offering just about every opportunity you could think of to capitalise on your favourite sports, and with a smooth and user-friendly interface making placing bets incredibly quick and easy, it's an excellent option to have at your fingertips.
Games
In addition to FanDuel sportsbook, the casino also has a wide game selection where you will find; table games (blackjack, baccarat, poker), roulette, slots, video poker games, and more. Although the casino is focused on its sports book's customers, they do value their game library, so take a look at their options!
Fanduel Casino on Mobile
So can you play daily fantasy sports here on your mobile devices? Yes, and in a few ways too. Firstly, you can visit the Fanduel website using the browser on your mobile devices, and you'll be able to log in, navigate and make your fantasy picks just as quickly as you can on desktop devices. This is down to the responsive nature of the website adjusting for optimal content display and performance.
If you find the mobile version of the site isn't performing the way you'd like, you can opt to download the iOS or Android mobile app instead. Fanduel takes users through the basics in a short tutorial video before letting you loose on what's been hailed by many as a slick and high performing daily fantasy sports betting app. Remember that you may be required to confirm your location to make sure you're in a permitted state by downloading a geolocation app to your device before you're allowed to use the Fanduel mobile app.
Payment Methods
Fanduel also receives a lot of praise for offering a plentiful supply of deposit and withdrawal methods.
Deposit options here include the credit and debit cards of Visa, Mastercard and Discover. You can also use PayPal Here, which is particularly useful if your credit or debit card has been issued by one of the more problematic banks that don't like deposits to online gambling sites, even in states where it's legal. There is also a Fanduel Prepaid Card that you can fund with your credit or debit cards or by ACH transfer. Other deposit methods include e-cheque, bank transfer, PayNearMe and traditional cheque.
Withdrawal methods aren't so numerous but still include e-cheques, traditional cheques, the Fanduel Prepaid Cards and PayPal.
Fanduel Casino Withdrawal Time
It can take Fanduel up to a couple of days to process your withdrawal request. From that point, the time it takes to reach you depends on the method you choose. E-cheques can take up to 5 business days, traditional cheques up to 7 business days, Fanduel Prepaid Cards only 24-36 hours and PayPal 24-48 hours.
Customer Support
If you can't find the answers to your questions on the Fanduel website, there are four ways to get in touch with the 24/7 support service. There is a Live Chat feature that can be accessed via the Support page. You can also fill in the contact form or email the team directly to [email protected]. There's an 877 toll-free number that you can call to speak to someone directly, or you can send your query via snail mail.
Fanduel Daily Fantasy Sports Licence
Fanduel is legally permitted to offer daily fantasy sports to users aged 18+ in all US states except Arizona, Hawaii, Idaho, Louisiana, Montana, Nevada and Washington.
Problems With Fanduel
There's not much negative feedback from players when it comes to Fanduel. They rank right up alongside what many regards as the best daily fantasy sports betting site, DraftKings, with very little other than personal preference separating the two.
