The Best Reason to Visit Casinos in Las Vegas – The Buffets!
Perhaps it’s the allure of the big city lights in Vegas? Or the roar of the slot machines as they deposit lots of shiny quarters into their winners’ hands! It could be the hush of the Blackjack table – or the majestic hotels that are extremely opulent in design and scream Vegas glamour! Whatever it is about the casinos in Las Vegas that you want to experience, we’ll tell you the best reason to visit, and that’s the buffets!
They’re extraordinary. Of course, in America, everything is supposedly bigger and better, but nothing prepares you for the mouth-watering display of delicacies that tempt even the hardened dieter to throw caution to the wind and delve into a feast like no other. The Las Vegas buffets are there to offer gamblers (and partygoers) something so sumptuous that they’re incredibly hard to resist. That’s the nature of Las Vegas as a whole – it’s all about entertainment and temptation as well. The allure of every single activity on offer is amplified to deliver the ultimate pleasure. The same goes for the buffets.
So if you’re heading off to Las Vegas, here’s our pick of the three best buffets to try. Don’t miss out!
1. Wicked Spoon at the Cosmopolitan
The Cosmopolitan’s Vegas buffet is by far one of the best in the city. What makes this buffet stand out is the “smaller” portions. While there are plenty of ramekins, adorable little lidded pots and Chinese-style takeaway containers – you’d think that you might get away with a filling lunchtime (or other time of day) snack.
But beware, one small pot leads to another petite dish and then another – before you know it, you’ve sampled much of what’s available. From culotte steak to squid salad and andouille – there are plenty of vegetarian, meat and fish options, too, to cater to all diets. Oh, and for wine buffs, there’s an entire cellar packed full of every type of wine from every corner of the globe – including some pricey vintage labels as well as the more affordable (but of course, if you win big at the casino, why not splash out?).
2. Bacchanal at the Caesar’s Palace
If you want to be spoiled for choice, then Bacchanal has to be your destination. There are over 500 different dishes to choose from – so it’s not for the faint-hearted! Expect to gorge yourself silly on Atlantic and Pacific oysters, a rich array of seasonal soups and blackened chicken.
There are also plenty of pizzas and other dishes from exotic locations in the world. Of course, everyone loves a Chinese meal and there’s a whole area dedicated to chicken chow mein, egg fried rice, duck and pancakes and seaweed (that list isn’t exhaustive!). Do try and save some room for the desserts or perhaps skip your mains because the desserts are truly a sensory experience, especially the souffles, multiple pastries and the crepe suzette (note that desserts do change regularly) all courtesy of chef Carlos Salazar and chef Dyan Ng.
3. The Bellagio Buffet
Well, there aren’t enough words in the English dictionary to describe the palatial magnificence of the buffet at the Bellagio. Sushi lovers will feel completely indulged in the heavenly slithers of the finest quality sashimi anywhere – even in Japan! There are countless different caviars to choose from and many dishes to cater to every palate – even hardened vegans will feel perfectly at home at the Bellagio.
Italian is another favourite at the Bellagio Buffet, with handmade pasta and magical sauces to set your tastebuds alight with pleasure. Everything is freshly prepared every day – and if you love ice cream (even if you don’t love it) you must visit their gelato area, with an array of flavoursome, creamy, dreamy tastes that exquisitely melt in the mouth.
Las Vegas – There’s More to Sin City Than Gambling!
Heading to Vegas for the casinos might well be your goal but there’s so much more than gambling on tap (and the big, sell-out shows) – the buffets are an experience that no Vegas visitor should miss out on, so leave plenty of room for a gastronomic extravaganza like no other!
