About 5 Sevens: Hold and Win
A classic fruit-themed title from AceRun, 5 Sevens: Hold & Win brings a retro design and easy-to-use interface. Despite its simplistic base design, the addition of four jackpots increases the variety in this slot’s gameplay wonderfully. Read on to see what I thought of 5 Sevens: Hold and Win.
Theme and graphics
You may not have high expectations of a 5 Hold and Win as it looks like most regular fruit-based games. However, this slot game has a fixed jackpot system that makes all the difference. Upon opening it, I was impressed by its graphics, despite its retro feel, these were very high quality. The symbols are animated but they look almost like real images. I also liked how the information was organised at the bottom of the machine and how easy the controls were to use.Â
Gameplay and features
Bringing an applicably retro 5x3 reel layout with 5 fixed betways, 5 Sevens: Hold and Win follows a typical set-up for an online casino slot of its kind. The bet range starts from €0.20 and goes as high as €100 making for a decent offering for many casual players.
When you play the maximum bet amount, 5 Hold and Win can reward you as much as the maximum payout is 1,810x, which may be considered quite low for the round’s bet. There are eight base game symbols. These can be split into high paying and low paying, while the Number Seven symbol is the most valuable. It offers a win of €1,000 for five symbols, €200 for four three €20 for three. Here’s a breakdown for the rest of them:
Symbols | Description |
---|---|
Star | Pays €50 for five symbols on a line. €10 for four and three symbols pay €2. |
Strawberry and Grape | Five of either of these symbols bring €100, four symbols bring €40 and three symbols bring €10. |
Plum, Orange, Lemon and Cherry | Five of any of these symbols pay €40, while four symbols pay €10 and three symbols pay €4. The cherry symbol also pays an additional two-symbol prize of €1. |
Special features and bonus games on 5 Sevens: Hold and Win
Despite its simplistic design, one factor that truly sets 5 Sevens: Hold and Win apart is its special features. These include its star coins, six or more of which will trigger the hold and win bonus game. This initially offers you three free spins that automatically reset whenever a new coin lands.
Amongst these prizes are four fixed jackpots, namely mini, minor, major and the grand jackpot. The first three can be triggered at any time during the base game. The Grand jackpot occurs whenever 15 coins fill the game’s reels during the Hold and Win bonus feature.
RTP and volatility
The 5 Hold and Win has an RTP rate of 86% to 96.10%. There are versions of this slot that increase in increments, these being 86.0%, 90.5%, 94.0%, and 96.10%. While the top end of this range is quite respectable, with 96% being the average across the industry. Anything lower than that can be seen as quite disappointing.Â
Upon further reading the slot’s documentation, I also found that the volatility of 5 Sevens: Hold and Win is between medium and high. So, as mundane as this slot game looks with regular fruits, the volatility is surprisingly high. I always recommend trying the free demo version of the game first. You can get to grips with the gameplay and mechanics this way before spending any real money.
5 Sevens: Hold and Win on mobile
When I opened this slot on my Android smartphone I must admit I was pretty underwhelmed. While the animations and graphics did not lose any quality, the layout was not adequately optimised. The reels and controls only took up half of the display, while the other half was dominated solely by the game’s logo.Â
This made the game far poorer and in some ways less accessible due to how small the controls are and the visibility of the entire playing area. I recommend playing this slot on a desktop as that is what it has been designed best for.
Things we like
Easy hold and win feature

Where do I play 5 Sevens: Hold and Win?
AceRun is a Yggdrasil slot developer, so while they have created some solid slots, 5 Sevens: Hold and Win makes it to many top online casinos through this connection. This is of course in no way a bad thing as this means I can play it at some of my favourite online casinos, including:
Similarly fruity slots
While 5 Sevens: Hold and Win brings a fixed jackpot system that definitely adds to the experience, at the heart of its gameplay it is a simple fruit-themed slot game. This is a type of slot game with a strong history, making 5 Sevens: Hold and Win’s retro design feel even more appropriate. This also means there are many other slots of this kind that have also been through through well.
My top choices for this kind of slot are, Pragmatic Play’s Fruit Party and Blueprint Gaming’s Rick and Morty Megaways.
Responsible gambling
No matter whether you prefer a slot with a variety of bonus features or a simple fruit-themed one such as 5 Sevens: Hold and Win. You should always play according to a set of responsible gambling guidelines such as setting spending limits or taking breaks. This will ensure you always enjoy your sessions and don’t fall into any problem gambling habits.
Personal take on 5 Sevens: Hold and Win
While of good quality, the graphics at 5 Sevens: Hold and Win will immediately strike you as not very innovative or complex. The overall appearance of the game follows most formulas for fruit-themed slots, of which there are many. The base gameplay is similar in this sense too, however, beginners may enjoy this simplicity.Â
The fixed jackpot system does add to the experience in my mind as it gives players more significant wins to play for, which I think is needed given the max payout of just 1,810x. Although the wins are not guaranteed, it is easily assured that 5 Seven Holds and Win is an enjoyable and easy game to play.
