Racial Equality Directive

Employers are responsible for ensuring that any job applicant or employee is treated equally regardless of these factors. Provisions must also be made to support individuals should they fall victim to discrimination./em>
Gender Equality Directive
The Gender Equality Directive (2006/54/EC) was enacted to end workplace discrimination based on gender. Regardless of an individual’s identification, they must be treated equally as an employee, stating that the factors of salary, working conditions, and promotion opportunities are fairly distributed.
Disability Rights
Discrimination based on physiological or psychological disabilities is not legally permissible in the EU with several frameworks having been enacted to defend these rights which include;
The United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities - which has been signed by the EU.
The Disability Strategy 2010-2020.

LGBTQ+ Rights
The EU stringently forbids discrimination based on an individual’s sexual orientation or gender identity, with several initiatives not only supporting these ideals but also encouraging the advancement of inclusion and equality.

Equal Pay Act
This forbids sex-based wage discrimination within the same establishment or under the same employer when individuals perform under similar conditions.
Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964
Together with its subsequent amendments, this act prohibits discrimination related to employment based on race, colour, religion, sex or national origin.
Title IX of the Education Amendment of 1972
This prevents discrimination based on either sex or blindness under any education programme that receives funding or financial assistance from the federal government.
