Mystic Lake Casino Hotel: Most Profitable Casino

The most profitable tribal casino is the Mystic Lake Casino Hotel in Minnesota which the Shakopee Mdewakanton Tribe owns. Established in 1992, the venue offers over 760 rooms, a convention centre, an amphitheatre that seats 8,350, a convention centre, and a world-class golf course. 

The hotel consists of the Promenade Tower, Lobby Towers, and Suites decked out in absolute luxury with views over the extensive golf course. Guests are treated to various bars and restaurants (11 in total), of which the Mystic Steakhouse is the favorite among guests. 

Other restaurants include the Minnehaha Cafe, Sweet Temptations, Meadows Bar and Grille, Gambler’s Grille, Fusion Noodle Bar, Mystic Delhi, Caribou Coffee, Drinx Bar, The Lobby Lounge, and The Promenade Bar. 

One of the main reasons for the casino’s great success is its massive array of casino promotions that it offers to customers. The casino offers daily, weekly, and monthly promotions to attract customers.

The revenues of these two casinos amount to approximately $1.4 billion per year. The Mystic Lake Casino Hotel contributes the most to the total revenue. 

Each tribe member gets approximately over one million per year. The tribe’s reservation in Scott County, and not too long ago, the tribe members lived in trailers without plumbing facilities. Today, the tribe lives in absolute luxury, but they haven’t forgotten their impoverished beginnings. 

It’s estimated that the community has donated more than $240 million since 1996 and lent more than $500 million to people in need. They’ve also given out many grants to universities and have endowed many scholarships to Native American students. 

Community members don’t work, but they’ve taken up expensive hobbies like thoroughbred horse breeding or hunting, and all their children are enrolled in private schools. Tribal leaders have boasted that more than 99.2% of tribe members are unemployed. However, this is simply by choice.
