The first thing I noticed about the layout is that there are 5 fixed paylines. This is quite unusual for the earlier Novomatic slots which usually allow you to choose your own. 

The betting range does follow the norm for these games though at €0.05 to €50. So you won’t need to shell out too much if you want to give it a whirl with real money.

The layout is a simple 5 reels with 3 rows and when I placed a bet the paylines were automatically highlighted.

I found the paytable within the ‘MENU’, which showed me the symbol values. The Lucky 7’s hold the most value whilst the melon and grapes are the medium payers. The rest of the fruits offer the lowest prizes and the cherries pay out with just 2 on a payline.

When I heard I was going to be reviewing an older Novomatic slot, I must admit I wasn’t that excited. I expected something archaic without much pizazz! I was proved wrong, though, and was pleasantly surprised by the glossy graphics. There aren’t any animations, but still, it’s visually appealing.

My personal experience of this game yielded several points to take into account:

• I triggered the free spins round towards the end of my testing. My payout was based on 4 of the Lucky Star Scatters and was a nice boost. 

• The Lucky 7 symbols weren’t that prevalent during my gameplay unfortunately. 

• I used the Gamble Feature and wasn’t that wowed by it. I much prefer to pick the colour (red or black) of a card. I played this 10 times and collected some decent wins, but also lost 80% of my tries.

My final thoughts on Amazing Stars

If you are looking for a top casino game which is simple to play and has big winning opportunities then you’ll love this. Novomatic, in the past, has launched some pretty boring games, but they outdid themselves here. A progressive jackpot, a fixed jackpot, free spins and a gamble feature are the perfect combo in my opinion. The max win of €100K is more than acceptable too!

The only factors which didn’t get me excited are the RTP and max bet amount. Both are too low and in need of a sizable boost. Nevertheless, I definitely recommend giving this game a try.
