The music reminds me of pirate music, which you sometimes hear in pirate movies when something suspensefulyet silly happens. 

When two scatters land on the reels, or three or more doubloons, the remaining reels will become encircled with fire, and the music picks up its pace. These 2D graphics are beautifully designed and engaging, like when a banner with Calypso’s likeness unfurls during the wild feature.

What’s behind the theme?

The name Calypso is more typically associated with a goddess of the seas when it comes to pirates and/or a water nymph who is Atlas’ daughter (a titan in Greek mythology). However, it fits perfectly with a pirate captain who sails the seas and is entirely free. 

Doubloons were Spanish gold coins that pirates often searched for. These gold coins were very valuable, so pirates always looked for them. This slot focuses on Skull Island, which has reportedly buried treasure in the form of doubloons.

Piracy is a popular theme for slots, largely due to pop culture. However, it’s also a fitting theme as pirates are always on the lookout for the next treasure map and chest of gold.
